Custom Kitchen Cabinets Melbourne

From period homes to new builds, we design kitchen cabinets to fit your space exactly. Not the other way around. Every kitchen is made to measure at our Campbellfield workshop and backed by 30+ years of craftsmanship.

Custom Kitchen Cabinets, Made For Melbourne Homes

At Attila Kitchens, every kitchen is designed and made to suit your space, your style and the way you live. From cabinetry and integrated appliances to oversized islands and considered storage, each detail is tailored to the proportions of your home and manufactured locally at our Campbellfield workshop.

Our experience extends beyond cabinetry. Through Attila’s Natural Stone, we can also help bring together your joinery and benchtop selections, creating a more cohesive kitchen from one experienced team.

Whether you are renovating or building new, we work with homeowners, builders and designers across Melbourne to create kitchens that feel considered, functional and beautifully resolved.

A Clear Quote, Tailored to Your Kitchen

Every kitchen is different. We measure, design and provide a detailed quote based on your individual space, selections and requirements.

What Makes a Kitchen Cabinet "Custom"

We manufacture custom-made kitchen cabinets to a specific measurement, material and configuration for your kitchen alone. A flat pack or off-the-shelf cabinet comes in fixed, standard sizes. Installers then trim or adjust it on site to fit. The difference shows up in three places.

Dimensions. We build to your exact floor-to-ceiling height, wall run and appliance clearances. You get no filler panels and no awkward gaps.
Configuration. We design internal storage around how you actually cook and store, not a generic template. That covers drawers, pull-outs, corner solutions and appliance housing.
Materials and finish. You choose the carcass material, door profile, colour, hardware and benchtop as one coordinated system. You do not match pre-made components.

This matters most in Melbourne’s older housing stock. Weatherboard Californian bungalows, Edwardian terraces and 1970s brick veneer homes rarely give you square walls. Low ceilings and non-standard room widths turn up constantly. We build the cabinetry to the room, not the other way around.

Know Your Contract Rights Before You Sign in Victoria

Most Melbourne homeowners never check this, so here it is plainly. Consumer Affairs Victoria requires a written major domestic building contract for renovation work worth more than $10,000. Your builder must also take out domestic building insurance once the work exceeds $16,000. Most custom kitchen cabinets in Melbourne sit well above both thresholds. Supply-only orders work differently, because installation is what triggers these rules. Victoria also passed the Domestic Building Contracts Amendment Bill in September 2025. Check the current requirements on the Consumer Affairs Victoria website before you sign anything.

Custom or Flat Pack: Which Suits Your Kitchen

For most renovations, this is not an either/or decision. Many of our Melbourne clients combine both. The right mix comes down to budget, timeline and how unusual your layout is.

Choose custom cabinets when:

Your kitchen has non-standard wall lengths, sloped ceilings, bulkheads or structural obstructions
You want integrated appliances, such as panel-ready fridges, built-in coffee machines or concealed rangehoods
You need a specific storage system, such as a butler's pantry, appliance garage or corner carousel
The kitchen anchors an open-plan living space and must look considered from every angle

Flat pack still makes sense when:

We supply both from the same Campbellfield workshop. For a full cost and durability comparison, read our guide, Custom vs Flat-Pack Cabinets in Melbourne. Let’s review our Flat Pack Kitchens designs.

Custom Kitchen Cabinets Melbourne: What They Actually Cost

Kitchen cabinet costs in Melbourne depend on four things. Lineal metreage, material selection, internal storage complexity, and whether you choose supply-only or full installation. Here is a general guide across the metro area.

Option

Typical Melbourne Range

Customised flat pack kitchen, DIY installation	From $9,995
Custom kitchen cabinets, standard layout	$15,000 - $30,000
Custom kitchen cabinets, larger or complex layout	$30,000 - $45,000
Bespoke fit-out, integrated appliances and premium finishes	$45,000+

These figures cover mid-range specifications. Premium finishes and complex layouts sit at the top of these ranges or above. That includes 2-pac doors, integrated appliance panels, waterfall stone islands and butler’s pantries.

We base every quote on a measure-and-design consultation, not a generic per-metre rate. No two kitchens, or budgets, are the same.

Owner-Builder or Trade? Take the Cabinets and Skip the Installation

We cut, edge and assemble at Campbellfield. You handle your own site work.

Our Kitchen Cabinet Design and Build Process

In-home or showroom consultation

We start by understanding how you use your kitchen. We ask about cooking style, storage frustrations and household size. We then measure walls, ceiling height and services, including plumbing, electrical and gas points.

Kitchen cabinet design and 3D visualisation

Our design team lays out your cabinet configuration, benchtop coordination and appliance integration. We show you a 3D render before we manufacture anything. Changes cost you nothing at this stage.

Material and finish selection

You choose the carcass material, door finish, colour, hardware and handles. View samples against your benchtop and flooring choices in our Campbellfield showroom.

Manufacture and quality control

We build your cabinets at our Campbellfield workshop to the confirmed specifications. Three separate people then check squareness, finish and hardware alignment before anything leaves the floor. You are welcome to inspect your cabinetry before it goes on the truck.

Kitchen cabinet installation

Our installers fit the cabinetry to the room. They scribe panels to walls and ceilings for a seamless finish. They also coordinate with your benchtop, splashback and appliance trades.

447+ Five-Star Reviews Across the Attila Group

I have received invaluable advice in choosing stone for my kitchen, laundry and bathrooms. Emir and George both gave good direction in my selection. The whole process in creating new rooms has been exciting and done with certainty that I've made excellent choices. I highly recommend Atilla Stone.

I visited this company today and needed help buying kitchen stone and the employees of this company are very friendly and take care of you.

Beautiful stone, great people, amazing service I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience with Attila. From the moment I walked into their showroom, I was blown away by the range and quality of natural stone they had. Every piece felt unique — it's clear they take a lot of care in choosing what they stock. What really stood out though was the team. They weren't pushy at all —just really genuine, helpful people who clearly love what they do. They took the time to explain the different types of stone, how they'd work in my space, and helped me feel confident with my choices. The stone I ended up choosing has completely transformed my kitchen. It's not just beautiful, it feels like it will last a lifetime. Delivery was smooth and everything arrived exactly as promised. Honestly, I'm so glad I found Attila. If you're looking for high-quality stone and people who actually care about your project, I can't recommend them enough.

As someone who is time poor I knew I had only one opportunity to pick and chose a porcelain slab for our kitchen renovation. The google reviews led me to Attila and I could not be happier. The level of customer service at Attila is a rarity - George was truly fantastic. I felt very well looked after, not rushed at all and their selection was incredible. Pricing was very reasonable too. Following purchase I was kept up to date as to when my slabs were picked up. Overall a great experience, with incredible communication and customer service - if I ever need stone again I would not hesitate to go back!

The team has been great helping my husband and me with our stone selection for our kitchen, pantry, laundry and bathroom renovations. From helping with options in the showroom to selecting the specific slabs in the warehouse and finally processing everything and lending their advice in the office.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a custom kitchen cabinet build take?

From confirmed order to delivery, most kitchen cabinetry jobs in Melbourne take four to eight weeks. Larger or more complex projects can take longer. Your project manager confirms the exact timeline early, so you can book your trades.

Can I get custom cabinets for just part of my kitchen?

Yes. Many clients order custom cabinets for a feature element only. That might be an island, a butler’s pantry or appliance housing. They then use flat pack elsewhere to manage the budget.

Do custom cabinets cost a lot more than flat pack?

Custom cabinets cost more, and the gap varies with your layout. Our flat pack range starts from $9,995. Most custom kitchens sit between $15,000 and $45,000. The difference earns its keep in irregular layouts, or where you need specific storage.

Do your soft-close kitchen cabinets use Blum or Hettich hardware?

Yes. Every custom cabinet we build carries Blum or Hettich soft-close hinges and runners. We specify the exact hardware in your quote, so nothing is left open to interpretation.

Do I need a written contract for a kitchen cabinet installation?

In Victoria, renovation work worth more than $10,000 requires a written major domestic building contract. Work above $16,000 also requires domestic building insurance. Consumer Affairs Victoria publishes the current rules.

Do you install in all Melbourne suburbs?

Yes. We service the Melbourne metro from our Campbellfield base. That includes Craigieburn, Epping, Reservoir, Preston, Coburg, Brunswick, Essendon, Bundoora, Greenvale, Roxburgh Park, Thomastown and Broadmeadows. We also work across the eastern, western and bayside suburbs. Contact us to confirm scheduling for your area.
